LETTING GO OF THE PAST
Another year is soon saying goodbye. Who and what we are has
changed through the events that have arrived in our life step by step, dream by
dream. Hopefully at this time we have weeded out what has not been working or
we have started the journey to correcting and healing that part of
"Whom" and "What" we will continue to walk with us into the
new year.
As the days wind down getting shorter and shorter to saying goodbye, we
discover that there is on the horizon another turn in the road and while we
have many pieces of our life puzzle upon the table, still many pieces are
missing and our direction in ways can be unclear.
This is when we need to stay in the
moment of the now stepping back and going within as we look at our creations
and where we shall take them next. For some that is recording an album, for
others, to finish a book after a year/years of focus and determination, maybe
creating a wonderful personal life and family or finishing college.
Do you have painful memories those events that have hurt you through the
betrayal, greed and envy of others? Do you have regrets about how you
walked a certain life path? These are all shadows that we carry within
and it is at this time of the year to let them go for in truth they really do
not have meaning anymore, do not exist! Here is a ritual that you may use
to symbolically release these shadows from your life and embrace the light and
new life.
New Years Eve
Bowl Burning Ceremony
1 Tall white candle
1 bowl or large abalone shell
1 Sheet of paper
This New Years
Eve happens to be a full moon which is perfect for doing this ceremony.
The moon is full and soon will start to fade away becoming dark once
more. It is a releasing time as the darkness arrives once more and soon
will bring the moons new light again. Write down 3 things or areas of
your life that you would like to release from your life; worries, guilt, fear,
negative people or actions. Then cut each topic into a strip of paper.
Hold them and pray that these things be lifted from your life and spirit that
God guides you in this process. When you are ready then take one at a time,
read it out loud and then light the paper from the candle. Watch as the
flame burns the paper and thoughts as it disappear.
As it is burning say out loud "I release _____________from my life
and being for the good of all concerned. I am open to receiving God's
goodness, peace, love and healing new way of my life.
Do this with each piece of paper. The as you look at the white candle
gently breathe in peace, love and healing light.
Give thanks to God for assisting you in releasing these shadows from your life.
May all your Dreams Come True
Be In Light!
Happy New Year!

WINTER SOLSTICE
On December 21st an ancient celebration arrives once again. It is the longest night of the year. Through the years many have sat by the fire and shared food together from their harvest giving thanks for all they received from the earth. Solstice Song (Sung to Silent Night) Holy night, longest night May You Be In Light! Deva ALSO:
The darkness will slowly start to turn into light. Solstice and New Year are a time to say goodbye to the past year and get ready to embrace the new year on the horizon...
There is no evil in this celebration only love and appreciation for the blessings and magic of this world we call home..
It is the eve of the Winter Solstice-the first night of Yule.
It is the longest night of the year.
The sun is at the lowest and most southern point in the sky.
Tonight the darkness reaches the limit of its power over light.
From this night forward, the darkness will wane and the light will grow.
This night and the twelve nights which follow fall in the space between one year and another, the border where the worlds overlap. All that happens is mightier than at any other time of the year.
The world holds its breath waiting for the infant sun to be born.
The fires and lights of Yule call the sun back from its southern journey.
Thirteen nights from now at the New Year we will see the waning of the dark.
We have spent the dark months looking inward and being quiet. We have felt the Great Goddess, in her Crone aspect.
We shall let go of those things which do not affirm life and love and send them with the old sun to the womb of the Earth to be born again as positive energies for us in the New Year.
We survive, we endure, and we prosper because we depend on each other. We to share in the careful stores from all our harvests, which gives us physical, emotional, and spiritual sustenance. We keep the fires burning and to affirm our support and love for one another.
No, we are interdependent with all of creation. We admire the animals and plants who thrive in winter. We honor them and give them rest. We remember to feed the wild creatures of the forest.
We have gathered to the light.
We have called for the Goddess near
To bless this circle we hold so dear.
We're children of the Earth
The Season for rebirth
Holy night, longest night
We have watched the Sun's waning light.
These inward days soon will pass
And bring the bright New Year at last
We're children of the Earth
The Season for rebirth
Holy night, longest night
We will keep the fires bright
And Mother Goddess will bear the new Sun (son)
The fruit from the seeds we have sown will come
We're children of the Earth
The Season for rebirth
